Professional Wrapping for Slim Line Jewel Cases January 2004: To compliment their existing range of desktop disc packaging systems, Verity Systems have introduced the VS4000sl, designed to provide a professional wrapping quality for slim line jewel cases with a low cost investment. There are of course already specialised machines that apply those neat, cellophane wrappings to large quantities of CDs for the mass recording and computer software companies, but as David Tucker, Verity System's Managing Director explained, "Existing machines have been designed for the bulk market and cost thousands of pounds. The VS4000sl wrapper has been developed for the small to medium producer of CDs. Typically, someone who wishes to output up to several hundred CDs a day can now wrap these quantities of slim line jewel cases cost effectively, achieving a quality finish equal to the standard of the much more expensive and larger finishing machines". The VS4000sl's easy, semi-automatic operation enables the unit to be used by all levels of operators. Pre-cut sheets of the polypropylene wrapping material are placed on the VS4000sl folding tray. The slim line jewel case is simply positioned onto the pre-cut sheet. The operator then closes the cover, which automatically tensions the sheet and makes the first heat-seal. The slim line case is then dropped into the hopper for the second fold and seal operation. The result is a professionally folded and sealed slim line CD case. Operators can supply their own wrapping material providing it meets the appropriate specification. Alternatively Verity Systems are able to supply the wrapping material to order.
